Agents ( Bylaw 12.3)

  • NCAA supports the Uniform Athlete Agents Act (UAAA)
  • UAAA helps regulate the activities of athlete agents and protecting NCAA student athletes and member institutions
  • A student athlete may not agree verbally or in writing to be represented by an athlete agent in the present or in the future for the purpose of marketing the student-athlete’s ability or reputation. If an agreement happens the student-athlete is ineligible for intercollegiate competition. ( DIV I Manual Bylaw 12.3.1)
  • A student-athlete and his/her family may not accept transportation or other benefits from an agent.

What can you do as a student athlete?

  • You can merely talk to an agent or socialize with an agent as long as an agreement to be represented is not established
  • If you go to dinner with an agent for example you must provide your own transportation and pay for your meal yourself.
