- Hydration. Fluid loss takes place during exercise, which causes dehydration. Dehydration can eventually cause heat stroke or other heat related illnesses. It is vital to drink adequate water during and after exercise.
- Balance. It is important for athletes to eat a balanced diet consisting of plenty of proteins, vitamins and minerals.
