Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is used to apply for federal student aid includin, grants, work-study and student loans.

How do I apply for the FAFSA?
You can file electronically or by mail.

When do I apply?
Submit your form beginning July 1, 2010 and no later than June 30, 2011

• Remember the earlier you apply the better
• Parents should complete their tax return prior to filling out the FAFSA if claimed as a dependent
• Each university has their own financial aid deadlines, check with the university to see when their deadlines are.

What do I need to begin the process?

• Social security card
• Driver’s license
• Most Recent W-2 form
• Most Recent Federal Income Tax Return
• Current bank statement
• Current business/investment mortgage information, business and farm records, stock bonds and other investment records
• Alien registration or permanent resident card (If not a US citizen)
• If a claimed as a dependent on parent/gaurdian taxes, you will need their tax recoreds.
